Rolling With Dads x Baby 2 Baby | Read & Roll at Northridge Library

We showed up for dads and kids the way we always do—with books, community, and a little something extra to take home. On April 4, Rolling With Dads brought Read & Roll to the Northridge Library, partnering with Baby 2 Baby to create a space where fathers could slow down, read alongside their little ones, and feel genuinely supported.

This one was for the dads who don’t always see themselves in these rooms. We made it for them.

What We Did

We hosted an interactive storytime session at the Northridge Library designed for dads and their kids to experience together. Read & Roll is about more than literacy—it’s about presence. Dads sat with their children, followed along with the story, and were encouraged to be the voice in the room. Thanks to our partners at Baby 2 Baby, every family left with a special giveaway package stocked with essentials for their little ones.

No barriers to entry. Just dads, books, and their babies.

How It Came Together

Baby 2 Baby brought the heart of this event to life. Their commitment to providing children in need with the basic necessities every child deserves aligned perfectly with RWD’s mission to meet dads where they are—practically, not just philosophically. The library provided an accessible, welcoming space that reminded us that community infrastructure still matters.

Together, we created an afternoon that felt simple and significant at the same time.

The Impact

Dads walked in curious and walked out connected. Families received giveaways that made a real difference, and kids got to see their fathers show up for something that wasn’t a game or a screen—it was a story, shared together.

For some dads, it was their first time at an event like this. It won’t be their last.

Why It Matters

Reading together is one of the most powerful things a father can do for his child’s development. But it’s not just about literacy—it’s about showing up, being present, and modeling that learning is something worth making time for. When dads do that in community, alongside other fathers doing the same thing, the message gets louder.
